| At J-List we are pleased to bring you traditional hand-made pottery dishes made here in Japan, made of a light weight clay and with hand-painted decorations. This is Arita ware, one of the first types of porcelain in Japan and highly respected around the world. Arita ware is made exclusively in Arita Town in Saga Prefecture, and began 400 years ago when Sanpei, a ceramist from Korea discovered a wealth of top quality porcelain in the area. Prized both in Japan and abroad, these dishes will be highly prized in your home too, perfect for use or display. This particlar ware is a hand made mug cup glazed both inside and outside, glazed lightly to allow the natural brown color typical of Arita ware to show through. Beautifully crafted with the artist's name engraved on the bottom of the cup, this mug is excellent for drinking your favorite hot drink from or even better, on display. 4" wide with a 3.5" diameter (10.5 cm and 9 cm respectively), it is also decorated with a small three-leaf engraving around the circumference and a subtle spiral pattern inside the cup. This will be shipped in a box and carefully prepared by our staff for you. Note that these are unqiue handmade items, and there may be very slight differences in design from the picture. This amazing item will be sent to you wrapped in a special protective box to protect it. |
