Tattoo art is slowly starting to be accepted in Japan as not just as the mark of a yakuza (Japanese gangster) but a real form of body art that anyone can embrace. With the natural design talent of the Japanese, some of the tattoo art that is being created is truly amazing in its aesthetic and originality. This book, second in the series highligts tattoos for (and by) women in a catalogue that anyone interested in tattoo art should give a look, if you are looking for ideas for your next tattoo or looking for unique designs. The first part of this book takes a look at five different "tastes" in tattoos, with color examples of each -- "girly", "surf", "ethnic", "rock" and "street". Next is a look at tattoo designs by serveral artists, with the design in large on the left and a photo of a model wearing the tattoo on the right. Some interesting designs can be found here, especially for the gothic punk crowd with designs by Atsushi Kaneko, Nagi Noda, FAFI, and Junko Mizuno, who is famous for her cute-disturbing comics and artbooks sold the world over. A catalogue of art studios in Japan and their tattoo samples follow. This is an amazing book showcasing the tottoo art that is now making waves in Japan, as people here are starting to embrace the artistic aspects over the "mark of a yakuza" stigma held against tattoo art. 96 pages, softcover perfectbound (6" x 8 1/2", or 15 x 12 cm).
