The Rube Goldberg Machine is a complex creation that is powered by a domino effect that sets off a chain reaction of activities to ultimately result in a desired (often very simple) action. One prime example of the Rube Goldberg Machine is a famous scene from the movie Goonies that triggers events to open a gate.
