Another excellent DVD release in the "Ghibli ga ippai" (Ghibli Everywhere) collection, this fabulous 2-DVD set is highly recommended for all fans of Hayao Miyazaki for its depth and great story and characters. A popular animated feature film about pilots in Italy after World War I, it's filled with charming Miyazaki characters and great animation. This DVD set is extra-special because it comes with FULL English subtitles and an English dubbed track, so you can enjoy the rich story in your native language!
Other features include French dub track and subtitles, full 16:9 letterboxed aspect ratio, the entire film as seen through its storyboards, all theatrical trailers, an interview with the producer, as well as hints on upcoming titles from Mr. Miyazaki.
This is the Main disc menu. On the left side are View Film and Chapter, and on the right are Sound settings and Subtitle settings. You can set the subtitle or audio through your DVD controller, too, of course.
The Tokuten (Extras) Disc has other features, including a version of the movie in storyboards. Options on this menu are Video extras and Chapter.
This is the Video extras submenu. Choose Storyboard version of the film, Theatrical trailers for the film, Interview with producer Kaifu Suzuki, and Upcoming news from Studio Ghibli.
The movie is fully subtitled and dubbed in English, so you can view it with the original Japanese and English subtitles, or hear the film in English!
Comes with an interview in Japanese with the producer of the film.
You can also enjoy all the rich storyboards made for the film, as you enjoy the movie.
