The Japanese dragon is a mythical creature that is very similar to the Chinese and Korean dragon. While being mentioned in Japanese mythology, it has also made it's role well known in pop culture from such as anime from DragonBall Z, Spirited away, and Final Fantasy. The kanji for dragon is pronounced as "Tatsu" or "Ryu" (Rhee-you) which is probably well recognized for the main character from Japan in the Street Fighter series of Video Games back in the 90s.
