| KING108 DX Genuine Arita Ware Mug Cup ~ Lucky Cat |
This item can be ordered. Weight: 400 g. Price: $32.00
Product type: Ceramic Cup
|
|
| At J-List we are pleased to bring you traditional hand-made pottery dishes made here in Japan, made of a light weight clay and with hand-painted decorations. This is Arita ware, one of the first types of porcelain in Japan and highly respected around the world. Arita ware is made exclusively in Arita Town in Saga Prefecture, and began 400 years ago when Sanpei, a ceramist from Korea discovered a wealth of top quality porcelain in the area. Prized both in Japan and abroad, these dishes will be highly prized in your home too, perfect for use or display. This particlar ware is a hand made cup with a Maneki Neko (Lucky Cat) theme, with hand-painted decoration that is incredibly adorable. On one side is the famous cat with both paws raised and an endearing smile, and inside the rim is the kanji for "Maneki" (welcome), a wonderful charm point. The artist's signature (in this case a black hanko stamp) appears on the bottom of the cup. This is a cute item that will instantly become your favorite mug cup in your collection. 3.75" high and lip diameter of 3" (10cm and 8cm respectively). This will be shipped in a box and carefully prepared by our staff for you. Note that these are unqiue handmade items, and there may be very slight differences in design from the picture. This fabulous item will be sent in a protective box, wrapped lovingly by our staff. Great for collectors of high quality Imari porcelain.

This special two cup set of Ariita-yaki has been made by the same manufacturer for approximately 300 years with virtually no change in method. Both cups feature the same mountain range pattern (one is green for men, the orange for women), a scene echoed in Japanese artwork. Each cup comes with a lid to keep the contents hot until you are ready to drink and have gold-colored highlights. The artisian's name is written on the bottom of the cup. Astoundingly beautiful, this is a beautiful ceramic set that you'll be proud to use in your own, or place on display. Of course this item will be carefully shipped to you in a protective box in addition to the special wooden bamboo box the item comes in. Note that these are unqiue handmade items, and there may be very slight differences in design from the picture.
