| SS231 The Here and Now ~ The Art, Ideas and Poetry of Mitsuo Aida 1 -- Imakoko (Now, Here) |
Number in stock: 1 Weight: 500 g. Price: $21.50
Product type: Study Book

| Calligrapher, poet, philosopher, are some of the words used to describe Mitsuo Aida. Living from 1924 to 1991, his brilliance was not recognized until too late after the publication of his masterwork "Ningen Damono" (Because I'm Human") was published in 1984, sparking a rediscovery of this zen-influenced poetry. World-renowned, his works have adorned calendars and books, and now has a museum dedicated to him in the Tokyo International Forum, a short walk from the Imperial Palace. With such wisdom in his words and gentle spirit, it is said that Aida's poetry has captured the spirit of Japan, however upon reading his work it feels more like Aida has captured the spirit and emotion of humanity in general, using a Japanese form of expression to bring it to life. This first book of poetry contains many poems of Aida in both English and Japanese bilingual format, with all the shorter poems in their original caligraphy. A number of his poems are about a single kanji character, following his own thoughts about that character. A wonderful coffetable book for those with an interest in Japanese literature, zen thought and shuuji calligraphy. This is hardcover, 78 pages. Translated by Tim Jensen, with forward by the son of Mitsuo Aida. (8.5" x 8")

This is where it all began! The original Gundam TV anime started a revolution in narrative 'giant robot' storytelling, with a cast of bold, realistically human characters and robots that obeyed (at least internally consistent) laws of physics. Names since enshrined in legend: Amuro, Char, Fraw Bow, Ramba Ral, Zeon, Zaku, and of course the Mobile Suit Gundam itself all star in this compilation film that takes the best of the original TV animated series and puts it on display with updated and reanimated footage, reproduced in a remastered version from the original 1981 cinematic release of the film. This DVD contains the second film of the trilogy based on the anime, is Region 2 encoded and contains both English and Japanese subtitles. 137 minutes long, from Bandai Visual.

The series revolves around the students in their second year of magic school, of which, Louise is attending. Absolutely horrible at magic, Louise is quickly named "Louise the Zero" (zero representing her rate of success she has when casting spells). In a sacred ritual where the students summon their familiars (eternal protectors), of which many receive magical creatures, Louise ends up summoning an ordinary bumbling human being by the name of Saito, who unknown to him, is a magically gifted swordsman.
