Soft Leek Replica Soft Leek Replica

FK279   Soft Leek Replica
Number in stock: 2   Weight: 120 g.   Price: $7.80
Product type: Joke Item

A truly legendary item is here! The Japanese negi (leek) became an icon of Japanesae animation after the character Orihime from Bleach was made to spin one in a hypnotic Flash animation known as "leekspin" which shows Orihime (also known as "Loituma Girl" , after the Finnish band whose song Levan Polka accompanies her spinning) happily twirling a leek in her hand over, and over, and over... More recently, the introduction of virtual singing Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku has re popularized the leekspin with new versions of the Ievan Polka song emerging, along with a "chibi" Miku shaking that leek for all it's worth! Clearly an item of monumental importance, the leek was only available in vegetable form - until now.

This leek replica faithfully reproduces the stylized appearance of the leeks seen in both Orihime and Miku videos, and is made of a soft, pliant plastic that can be squeezed only to reform into its patented leek shape moments later. Most importantly, the thing can SPIN! The leek is approx. 12 inches (30 cm) long out of the package, but can be stretched or compressed, bent, folded, and spun in a variety of entertaining ways while returning to its original dimensions shortly after. Picture a leek-shaped "stress ball" and you have the idea - this is the perfect item to reproduce and commemorate your favorite Leekspin and Miku moments, as well as a great stress reliever or even a wrist cushion for typing - the possibilities are limitless! From Bloom Corporation.

High school student Konno Makoto rides her bike recklessly, is often late to school, and does poorly on her exams. One day upon returning home she finds herself unable to control her bike and is unable to stop herself from hitting an oncoming train. In an instant, Makoto miraculously is transported back in time, just enough to avoid the accident, revealing her innate power to "jump through time." After discovering her abilities, she uses it to make life more pleasant by avoiding tardiness, passing tests, among other things. However, when relationship issues begin to arise between her friends Chiaki and Kousuke, she again uses her powers to avoid awkward situations, only to discover that things only got worse. Makoto learns the hard way that playing with time has consequences.

Toki o Kakeru Shojo (translated as The Girl Who Leapt through Time) is a story that truly tests the limits of time, often being retold through the years in manga, TV series and movies. It was originally a novel, created by Yasutaka Tsutsui back in 1965 focusing on a girl named Kazuko Yoshiyama, a student who suddenly discovers the gift of time travel (known as time-leaping in Japanese) when she escapes and accident. How and why she gains these abilities are revealed in a mysterious man from the future. Recently adapted into a feature length anime by Kadokawa Herald Pictures in 2006, this version continues 20 years later where the original novel left off, creating a fantastic sequel with a modern generation of characters. Now you can experience this tale of romance in this Blu-Ray Disc in its original language, features an art gallery and includes a free film strip featuring a five frames of a scene from the movie. Makes a great study item, and is perfect for those who love romance stories. 98 mins.

Studio Ghibli has come into its own as one of the world's foremost animation houses. This latest DVD release tells the story of a young girl, Haru, who saves a cat prince from being hit by a truck. In return for saving his son's life, the king of cats changes Haru into a cat to marry his son. But everything is not as it would seem, a war rages between the cats, and Haru isn't so sure she's up to marrying the prince.

Directed by Hiroyuki Morita and based loosely on the manga Baron - Neko No Danshaku by Aoi Hiragi, it serves as an unofficial sequel to Whisper of the Heart, including many of the same characters from the cat world. Softer in tone and pace than many of the other Ghibli titles such as Mononoke Hime or Porco Rosso, it is still a Ghibli film in heart and spirit. Captivating, funny, and a treat for audiences who enjoy storylines over violence and action.

Filmed in wide-screen, 16:9 format, The Cat Returns has optional Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Japanese subtitles.

Included with The Cat Returns is a hilarious look at childhood days of the main character who works at an animation studio with a suspiciously similar name. Called Gibri's: Episode 2, it is a powerhouse of interesting and imaginative animation. A 25-minutes short about first crushes, it's a sweet and funny addition to an already great DVD. Shot in widescreen format with optional English or Japanese subtitles.

100 minutes of great Ghibli animation accompanied by a second DVD with promotional TV sports, character boards, the making of, and great additions. An impressive 160 minutes on the second disc, making this a fantastic buy for all fans of Hayao Miyazaki!

A great new DVD release in the Ghibli ga Ippai (Ghibli Everywhere) collection, this is Whisper of the Heart (Japanese title "Mimi o sumaseba" also translated as "If you listen closely"). Directed by Yoshifumi Kondo and produced by Hayao Miyazaki, this tells the story of the Shizuku, an average 14 year old Japanese girl with a more than active imagination, and of the journey she makes from girlhood into something more, of first girlish love and a rite of passage. A pleasant story that's presented both subtitled in English on these two DVDs -- the only way you can enjoy this film in English! Other extras include all storyboards for the film, watchable in order with the film soundtrack, all film trailers, a feature on the artwork in Japanese, and more. A great Japanese animated film from Studio Ghibli!

This is the Main menu for the first disc. Options are View film, Chapter, Sound options and Subtitle options.

On the second disc, explore many options in the film. Options on this menu are Video extras, Chapter, Trailers from the other Ghibli releases, and News from Studio Ghibli.

This is the Video extras menu for the second disc. Options are View film (with storyboards), news of upcoming films by Mr. Miyazaki, the documentary on the dreamy artwork of background painter Naohisa Inoue, and more news on new works by Studio Ghibli.

Some of the most beautiful art and animation went into this feature film about young love and coming of age, with some of the best technical animation ever shown to us by the studio. The DVD is subtitled in English.

There are many extras on the disc, like a digitally-enhanced exploration of the beautiful backgrounds for the film, created by Naohisa Inoue, set to beautiful music.

As with the other Ghibli ga Ippai DVD releases, you can view all the storyboards from the film, complete with full movie soundtrack.

When Martha realizes that she is at death's door, she leaves her son, the Great Swordsman ALES with her last wish before passing away. Will. Lives in Plen Arc. She is a member of "Song of God" and tasked with the duty of conveying the will of God to people through dance. God called to her, but because she defied him, the oracles have decimated Plen Arc. When ALES arrives in Plen Arc, she has gone missing. The question is whether she perished with the city, or... Quake. A man that lives in the seaside hamlet of Sea Arc also happens to be an oracle. Normally living a quiet life with the fishermen of Sea Arc, QUAKE cuts a bold figure and has a personality that leaves an impression. Despite appearances, he is also a man of deep reflection and possesses a wealth of knowledge. A certain incident drives him to join forces in taking action with ALES.
