This is a fabulous device from Japan's famous Elecom computer peripherals maker Elecom, an incredibly handy dock that lets you connect raw hard drives and easily read them on your Mac or PC. The device connects to your computer, and features a handy USB hub. When you need to access a bare SATA hard drive of either the 3.5 or 2.5 inch variety, just open the case and insert the drive, and it will mount on your computer automatically. Because the drive is protected while connected, you're safe against accidentally dropping it off the side of your desk. This convenient connection method means you can use terabyte and higher drives as removable media, connecting them for quick backups or to access information that you need.
