| The daruma doll is a well-known symbol in Japan as the universal bringer of luck and completion. Companies buy huge versions of these colorful wooden dolls (that are really nothing more than a head) costing thousands of US dollars. However, you can now own one of these cool guys (for far, far less) and attach them to your keychain to bring you good luck. Standing 12 cm (4.5 inches) tall, this guy comes without his eyes drawn in, and the word "Fortune" ("fuku") on his tummy. To "use" this guy, color in one of his eyes (right or left is up to you), and either make a wish or commitment. When that wish comes true, or you complete your task, color in the other eye. Traditionally these guys are burnt in a bonfire afterwards, but you can keep your daruma doll to remind you of your accomplishment! Great for passing tests, getting married, starting a company, or meeting any kind of goal you have.
