Kids in Japan are fascinated by insects thanks to the Stag Beetle phenomenon so popular a few years ago. Here's a traditional item that doesn't necessarily call stag beetles but Cicade's which are equally impressive. Simply put, this is a pole with a string attached to a bamboo shoot that not only is disguised as a Ciciade, but will actually whistle like one when you twirl it.
