Everyone knows the traditional yokobue (yoko-boo-eh) flutes from Japan, literally "horizontal flute" since you play it off to the site of your mouth. This is a similarly cool item, a tatebue (tah-tay-boo-eh), or "vertical flute" since it's played perpendicular to the mouth. The style is great, and it's made from real carved Japanese cedar wood.
