About this product:
The "9.5th" game in the official Touhou Project series from programmer-creator ZUN and his circle Team Shanghai Alice, Shoot the Bullet takes the concept of the "shoot 'em up" scrolling shooter game in an innovative new direction. Instead of defeating bosses by pummelling them to diminish their health bars, the game is won by taking artistic, aesthetically pleasing pictures ("shooting" the bullets in a photographic sense) of the bosses with whom you're engaged in combat. Pictures are awarded scores based on bullet density, symmetry, and other elements of composition, and a certain number of successful shots must be taken to clear each boss level, with clever navigation and bullet dodging as well as timing of the photography, zoom, and exposure all playing a part. Many dear characters of the Touhou franchise return as bosses that must be photographed - be sure to pick up the companion manga Touhou Bunkachou ~ Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red. from Ichijinsha, also available at J-List, for a full background of the photography taken by protagonist Aya Shameimaru!
An English patch is now available! Download it here from the diligent fans at Gensokyo.org.
